Failure Code Condition Check/Repair

NOTE: Not valid for Y line. If there is a Y near the end of your model number, do not use this chart.

4 Digit Failure Code
 
F0 - E0 Analog to Digital Failure.
1.    Disconnect for 30 seconds - if display re-appears - replace control.
 
F1 - E1 Safety flip flop.
1.    Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC).
 
F2 - E0 Shorted keypad.
1.    Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC).
 
F3 - E0 Oven temperature sensor or sensor fuse opened.
1.    Replace oven temperature sensor or fuse.
 
F3 - E1 Oven temperature sensor shorted.
1.    Replace oven temperature sensor.
 
F3 - E2 Oven too hot.
1.    Replace oven temperature sensor.
 
F3 - E3 Clean temp too hot.
1.    Replace oven temperature sensor.
 
F5 - E0
F5 - E1 and E2 Door latch problem.
1.    Check door/latch switch, replace if necessary.
 
2 Digit Failure Code
 
F0 or F1 or F5 Failed Electronic Range Control (ERC).
1.    Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC).
 
F2 - E0 Oven temp too high.
1.    Test operation of door lock on self-clean models.
2.    Test relay contact operation.
3.     High resistance in oven temperature sensor.
 
F3 Open oven temperature sensor or thermal fuse.
1.  Bad oven temperature sensor harness or
2.  Oven temperature sensor resistance too high.
3.  Replace oven temperature sensor or thermal fuse.
 
F4  Shorted oven temperature sensor.
1.   Replace oven temperature sensor.
 
F6  Problem in time keeping circuit.
1. Reset time and/or cooking operation.
2. Check for proper ground.
 
F7 Stuck function switch or button on Electronic Range Control (ERC).
1.  Try to free stuck button.
2.   Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC).
 
F8  Failure of Electronic Range Control (ERC).
1.   Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC).
 
F9  Door lock circuit.
1.   Check wiring and test operation of door lock switch.

DOOR Bake or Broil
1.   Defective latch switch
2.   Shorted wire from ERC 10-pin connector, pin 10 to ground
3.   Door latched.  Replace latch switch if defective.
4.   Replace wire from 10-pin connector if defective

DOOR Self-Clean
1.  Defective latch switch
2.  Open wire from ERC 10-pin connector, pin 10 to ground
3.  Door not latched Replace latch switch if defective.
4.  Replace wire from 10-pin connector if defective

LOCK Not in Self-Clean
1.  Oven temperature sensor resistance too high.
2.  Check oven temperature sensor resistance.
3.  Wire harness and connections.
4.  Replace defective component.

F1  Analog to Digital Failure.

1.   Measure oven temperature sensor resistance, should be1100 ohms. 2.   If not, replace sensor.

1.   Replace oven temperature sensor.
 
F3  Oven too hot.
1.   Replace oven temperature sensor.
 
F3  Clean temp too hot.
1.   Replace oven temperature sensor.

F5  Check door/latch switch.
1.   Replace component.

Failure Code Condition Check/Repair

F2   Bake/Clean temperature runaway alarm
1.   Allow unit to sit for one hour to cool down
2.   Place oven temperature sensor in a glass of ice water
3.   Measure oven temperature sensor resistance. The oven temperature sensor should measure about 1000 ohms while in the ice water
4.   If the oven temperature sensor is good but the problem remains replace the electronic range control (ERC).
5.   If the oven temperature sensor is bad, replace it

F3  Oven temperature sensor circuit open.
1.   Verify the oven temperature sensor wiring harness is OK,
2.    If so, replace the oven temperature sensor.
 
F4   Shorted oven temperature sensor circuit.
1.    Verify the oven temperature sensor wiring harness is OK,
2.    If so, replace the oven temperature sensor.
 
F5   Element relay enable on. (STUCK CLOSED).
1.    Replace the electronic range control (ERC).
 
F6   Power was interrupted.
1.    Push the OFF/CANCEL button.
 
F8  Improper door lock points.
1.   Check the door latch switch.
2.   Check the 8-pin connector on the control for a good connection.
3.   Replace the electronic range control (ERC) if the connections and latch switch check out OK.

F2 Oven temperature above specifications.
1.  Check 8-pin connector going from the oven temperature sensor to the Electronic Range Control (ERC).
 
F3 Open oven temperature sensor.
1.  Check wiring harness.
2.  Replace oven temperature sensor if necessary.
 
F4 Shorted oven temperature sensor.
1.  Check wiring harness.
2.  Replace oven temperature sensor if necessary.
 
F5 Push button stuck.
1.  Check for binding of push buttons and control panel glass.
2.  If OK, replace touch panel.

F6 Computer logic interrupted (timing).
1.   Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

F7 Computer logic interrupted (lock motor).
1.   Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).
 
F8 Computer logic interrupted.
1.   Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).
