 THERMADOR
Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes starting with an E

If an error code appears in the cook mode window
Your oven is equipped with an extremely reliable and accurate electronic control. On the rare occasion that something occurs that causes a malfunction, an error message will appear in the oven selector window.

Some errors (E1, E9, E11, E12, and E13) must be cleared by turning off the oven at the circuit breaker and then turning it back on. When an error remains displayed steadily in the off position, after attempting to clear the error, a service call is required.

Have the error code available when you call for service. This will help service determine the problem.

Error Code Notes Check/Repair

E1 C, E Control board problem

E2 K, G Cook or clean mode runaway

E3 A, H Open oven temperature sensor (over 5000 ohms)

E4 A, H Shorted oven temperature sensor (under 500 ohms)

E5 K, D Control board too cold or too hot, or defective board.

E6 C, J Control board problem

E7 A, I Illegal temp display.
1.   Turn off and retry.

E8 A, D Control board problem

E9 A, E Latch switch problems

E10 B, D Control board problem

E11 A, F CT oven; latch switch problem

E12 A, E CT oven; latch switch problem

E13 A, C CT ovens.
1.   Latch froze.
2.   Or no power to latch motor.

CMT ovens; control board not converted

E14 A, E Latch switch problems

E15 B, D Control board problem

Notes
A Turns heat off on failed oven only, micro not affected

B Turns all heat off, micro not affected

C Disables clean mode in both ovens, allows cook and microwave

D Error will remain in display until repaired and powered up. No error tones

E Error
1. Turn the clock selector knob to OFF
2. “Tweak” the oven control by turning the clock selector knob slightly to the left (counter clockwise). This may stop the flashing message/beeping and clear the display window.

F Tweaking clears to "---" for retry

G Clears when oven temp drops below runaway temp and selector is off

H Can be cancelled by tweaking if a good oven temperature sensor is detected

I Cleared with a mode change

J Can be tweaked away for retry.
1.   User must unlatch and delete the "---" to try to relatch the door

K Turns all heat and micro off

L If two switches show locked door, then "E13" and "Lock" are permanent in display (all modes). If two switches show an open door you can tweak away the "E13"

Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes starting with an F Error

Code Notes Check/Repair

F0 Internal logic failure; cancel key supervision. Sounds alarm and resets to non-cook mode.
1.  Replace the electronic range control (also called clock or ERC).

F1 Internal logic failure (monitoring function). Sounds alarm and inhibits cook modes.
1.   Replace the electronic range control (also called clock or ERC).

F2 Temperature runaway detected.
1.   Bake/Broil: 600 - 700 F
2.   Clean: 930 - 1000 degrees F  Sounds alarm and resets to non-cook mode.
3.   Check relay board for stuck contacts.
4.   Check oven temperature sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 degrees F).
5.   Check sensor wiring connectors for a loose or high resistance connection.
6.   Check electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) functions
7.   Replace relay board if necessary.
8.   Replace oven temperature sensor if other components check normal.
9.   If failure repeats, replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC).

F3 Open circuit detected; oven temperature sensor.
1.   Check sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 degrees F).
2.   Check wires and connections between electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) and oven temperature sensor.
3.   Replace sensor if other components check normal.
4.   Replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) if fail code reoccurs.

F4  Short circuit detected; oven temperature sensor.
1.   Check sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 degrees F).
2.   Check wires between electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) and sensor.
3.    Replace sensor if other components check normal.
4.    Replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) if fail code reoccurs.

F7   Function key shorted for over 16 seconds.
1.   Check for something pressing a key or preventing normal release of the key.
2.    Replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) if other components check normal.

F8  Internal logic failure; calibration. Alarm sounds and resets to non-cook mode.
1.   Check oven temperature sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 F).
2.   Check wires and connections between electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) and oven temperature sensor.
3.   Replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) and oven temperature sensor if other components check normal.

F9 Internal logic failure; door latch supervision. Alarm sounds and resets to non-cook mode.
1.   If door is locked due to clean temperatures.
2.   Disconnect power until door can be unlocked.
3.   Replace the electronic range control (also called clock or ERC).

Fd   Bake & Broil relay drives active simultaneously.
1.   Check relay board for damage.
